Time & Location:
California School Board Association’s Annual Education Conference, Saturday, December 1, 2018, 8:30am – 9:45am, Room 3014 + 3016, Moscone West San Francisco
Summary:
“This workshop focuses on today’s Local Control Funding Formula landscape imperative for effective stakeholder engagement. Lengthy text documents are frequently the least effective format for communicating with parents/families, staff, board members, community and students. Principles of good funding stewardship and of transparency demand that local educational agencies implement more accessible, meaningful engagement approaches. The sheer volume of information people must contend with makes user-friendly communication even more critical. Attendees will receive immediately transferable best practices for implementing effective stakeholder engagement, including the science behind engagement communication and a range of types of engagement from district/strategic thinking to the classroom teacher/student level.”
